Make Your Computer Run a Wee Bit Faster with some Kill Scripts Targeting Excess Processes

Tech MacGyver - Technology & Business Solutions for Sarasota-Bradenton - Computer Tips

Here are my basic scripts for closing some common software that runs in the background unseen but still hungry for your resources. I’ll add more as time/interest/testing permits.

Adobe-Killer – this script assumes you have Windows Sysinternals PsKill utility in your command path already and it’s saved as a simple batch file on the desktop for easy access.

REM Kill Adobe processes
pskill.exe acrotray.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe acrobat_sl.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe armsvc.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe plugin-container.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe AdobeCollabSync.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe “Creative Cloud.exe” -t -accepteula
pskill.exe “Adobe Desktop Service.exe” -t -accepteula
pskill.exe AdobeIPCBroker.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe CCXProcess.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe CCLibrary.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe CoreSync.exe -t -accepteula
pskill.exe node.exe -t -accepteula

Adobe-Killer-Plus – Note that this kill script uses the built-in Windows executable, taskkill.exe, to complete its job of killing processes, so nothing to download or add to your Windows install. Notice how the image name has the asterisk on the end and functions as a wild card. We’re killing processes from Adobe, ATI, Dropbox, and more. Customize to your liking.
